NCLOR and the Duke Gero Collection: What it Can Do For You!
Background
The North Carolina Learning Object Repository (NCLOR), a collaborative effort, stores documents, audio/video clips, simulations, learning modules, assessments, and more – virtually any type of learning resource that can be digitized and processed. Users can search the repository, find materials appropriate to their teaching or learning objective(s), and utilize them. This concept of sharing and reusing is the core of the NCLOR philosophy.
The Duke Gero Collection within NCLOR
The Center of Excellence in Geriatric Nursing Education (CoEGNE) at Duke University School of Nursing partnered with NCLOR in the development of the Duke Gero Collection. The Duke Gero Collection is open to all who have an interest in nursing practice, education, and research. It is intended to encourage the nursing community to share best practices, tools, resources and references with one another. Items contributed to the Duke Gero Collection are reviewed by faculty or clinical affiliates of the CoEGNE. Once reviewed and accepted each item (asset or object) will display the Duke University School of Nursing logo.
Get an NCLOR Account
Although the Duke Gero Collection is open for anyone to search, use, and download the various learning assets and objects available in this Collection, an NCLOR account is necessary should you wish to CONTRIBUTE a learning asset, or object to the Collection. The learning asset or object may be something you created, or found on the web that would be of interest to others. We hope that you will share resources with colleagues to help build and strengthen this community.
Contact Loretta Matters at loretta.matters@duke.edu or
Michelle Mitchell @ m.mitchell@duke.edu if you are interested in an NCLOR account. Remember you do NOT need an account to search and download resources from NCLOR. You only need an account to contribute resources, which we hope you will.
